Background:
Specific Explanation: The General Services Department (GSD) recommends that City Council appropriate $3,220,000 to the CIP Project Cost Recovery Fund (Fund 1001) to cover reimbursable project management costs for FY18 CIP projects, managed by GSD, for the City departments listed below.
The requested appropriation will reimburse the CIP Project Cost Recovery Fund for the actual cost of project management services provided by architects, engineers, project managers and administrators. These employees provide labor and expertise to manage the design and construction of capital improvement projects and associated contracts. Project management costs are derived from timesheets and salary rates, along with FY18 projections.
CIP FISCAL NOTE: There is no estimated impact to the operating and maintenance costs as a result of this CIP salary recovery expenditure. Therefore, no Fiscal Note is required as stated in the Financial Policy Ordinance No. 2014-1078.
