The City Attorney requests that City Council adopt an ordinance approving and authorizing an Amendment to the 2011 Meet and Confer Agreement (“Agreement”) between the City and HPOPS.
This Amendment to the Agreement sets forth the Parties’ intent to present a mutually agreed pension reform solution to the Texas Legislature in connection with the 85th Legislative Session. In addition, this Amendment obligates the Parties to work together to oppose legislative changes to the mutually agreed pension reform solution when either Party disagrees or opposes such changes. Finally, the Amendment provides that if the legislative changes cannot be resolved to both Parties’ satisfaction, then both Parties will no longer support the mutually agreed pension reform solution.
