SUBJECT: Petition for the City’s consent to the addition of 9.98 acres to Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 64 (Key Map No. 444V).
RECOMMENDATION: Petition for the City’s consent to the addition of 9.98 acres to Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 64 be approved.
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 64 has petitioned the City of Houston for consent to add 9.98 acres, located in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City, to the district.
The Utility District Review Committee has evaluated the application with respect to wastewater collection and treatment, potable water distribution, storm water conveyance, and other public services.
The district is located in the vicinity of Franz Road, Katy Fort Bend Road, Morton Ranch Road, and Grand Parkway. The district desires to add 9.98 acres, thus yielding a total of 495.532 acres. The district is served by a regional plant, the Williamsburg Regional Sewage Authority. The other districts served by Williamsburg Regional Sewage Authority are Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 61, Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 62, Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 63, Harris County Municipal Utility District No.64, Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 65, West Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 2, West Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 5, and Westside Ventures. The nearest major drainage facility for Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 64 is Mason Creek, which flows into Buffalo Bayou, and finally into the Houston Ship Channel.
Potable water is provided by the district. By executing the Petition for Consent, the district has acknowledged that all plans for the construction of water conveyance, wastewater collection, and storm water collection systems within the district must be approved by the City of Houston prior to their construction.
The Utility District Review Committee recommends that the subject petition be approved.
