The Mayor’s Office of Special Events (MOSE) recommends that City Council approve an ordinance amending Chapter 25 of the City of Houston’s Code of Ordinances to add a new safety zone for the Midtown area and extension of the Central Business District Zone boundaries.
These safety zones are requested by the National Football League as locations for an event hosted by one of its primary partners. Due to the nature of the event and the signage to be installed, the establishment of this additional safety zone and the extension of the Central Business District Zone boundaries will allow the NFL to efficiently navigate the necessary processes for permitting and public safety management.
