SUBJECT: Petition for the City’s consent to the addition of 40.1020 acres to Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 134B (Key Map No. 566M).
RECOMMENDATION: Petition for the City’s consent to the addition of 40.1020 acres to Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 134B be approved.
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 134B has petitioned the City of Houston for consent to add 40.1020 acres, located in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City, to the district.
The Utility District Review Committee has evaluated the application with respect to wastewater collection and treatment, potable water distribution, storm water conveyance, and other public services.
The district is located in the vicinity of Owens Road, Grand Parkway/SH 99, Beechnut Road, and FM 1464. The district desires to add 40.1020 acres, thus yielding a total of 1,118.2620 acres. The district is served by a regional plant, the Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 134A Wastewater Treatment Plant, which also serves Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 134C. The nearest major drainage facility for Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 134B is Oyster Creek, which flows into Flat Bank Creek, then into the Brazos River, and finally into the Gulf of Mexico.
Potable water is provided by the district. By executing the Petition for Consent, the district has acknowledged that all plans for the construction of water conveyance, wastewater collection, and storm water collection systems within the district must be approved by the City of Houston prior to their construction.
The Utility District Review Committee recommends that the subject petition be approved.
