The Administration and Regulatory Affairs Department recommends that the following proposed areas be designated as Residential Permit Parking (RPP) areas and that a valid permit be required for on-street parking at the times of day and days of the week specified below and in the attachment.
RPP# 040116-24-265:
- Location: 1700 block of Grant (between Willard and Damon) and the 1000 block of Bomar (between Montrose and Grant)
- Date/Time: Monday – Sunday, 8 AM – 8 PM, tow-away zone
RPP# 050416-87-268
- Location: 2100- 2300 block of Briarglen, (west side, between Bettis and San Felipe)
- Date/Time: Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 6 PM, tow-away zone
RPP# 061616-66-270
- Location: 5500 block of Chenevert, (between Binz and Calumet)
- Date/Time: Monday – Sunday, 10 AM – 10 PM, tow-away zone
Chapter 26, Section 26-311 of the City of Houston’s Code of Ordinances provides for the creation of Residential Permit Parking areas in neighborhoods where excessive commuter parking is deemed a problem for residents. To date, 157 permit areas have been designated.
The Administration & Regulatory Affairs and Public Works and Engineering Departments reviewed the applications and held a public hearing on August 25, 2016 to discuss and ensure any outstanding issues with the proposed areas were satisfactorily resolved within the community. The required public hearing notice was sent to all addresses within a 200’ boundary of the requested zone as well as the Neartown/Montrose Super Neighborhood, Montrose Management District, East Montrose Civic Association, Museum Park Super Neighborhood, and the Southeast Management District.
