Summary:

RECOMMENDATION from Director Department of Public Works & Engineering for approval of final contract amount of $2,379,386.98 and acceptance of work on contract with ISI CONTRACTING, INC for Concrete and Asphalt Restoration 3 - .75% under the original contract amount (WA11142-01)

Background:

SUBJECT:  Accept Work for Concrete and Asphalt Restoration 3, WBS# S-MA1000-0003-4.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  (Summary)  Pass a motion to approve the final contract amount of $2,379,386.98, which is .75% under the original contract amount, accept the work, and authorize final payment.

 

PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: Under this project, the contractor provided restoration of concrete and asphalt sections of roads within City limits following the repair of water and wastewater sewer lines. The restoration included both small sections of various sizes and panel to panel repairs.

 

DESCRIPTION/SCOPE: This project consisted of restoration of concrete and asphalt section of roads within City Limits.  The contract was awarded to ISI Contracting Inc., with an original amount of $2,397,250.50.  The Notice to Proceed date was 08/08/2013 and the duration for the project was two-years, with a one-year option to renew, for a total of three years.  

 

LOCATION:  The project was located at various locations within all Council Districts.

 

CONTRACT COMPLETION AND COST:  The contractor, ISI Contracting, Inc., has completed the work under the contract with in the contract time. The final cost of the project is $2,379,386.98, a decrease of $17,863.52 or .75% under the original contract amount of $2,397,250.50. Less concrete and asphalt were needed than anticipated.

 

MWDBE PARTICIPATION:  The MWDBE goal for this project was 13%.  According to the Office of Business Opportunity, the actual participation was 26.85%. The contractor was awarded a “Satisfactory” rating from the Office of Business Opportunity.
