A property owner or the Houston Archaeological and Historical Commission may initiate an application for the designation of a Landmark. This application for Landmark designation of the Peacock and Plaza Court Apartments at 1414-1416 Austin Street was initiated by the owner.
A public hearing was held on June 16, 2016 by the Houston Archaeological and Historical Commission and there were no objections to the designation. The Houston Archaeological and Historical Commission determined that the application satisfied applicable criteria of the ordinance and unanimously recommended approval of the Landmark designation.
