SUBJECT:  Ordinance authorizing the abandonment and sale of the northern portion of excess Memel Street right-of-way, from Des Chaumes Street (aka Des Jardines Street) east ±100 feet, within the Bay Street Gardens Subdivision, out of the S.M. Harris One Third League Survey, A-327.  Parcel SY16-024

RECOMMENDATION:  It is recommended City Council approve an ordinance authorizing the abandonment and sale of the northern portion of excess Memel Street right-of-way, from Des Chaumes Street (aka Des Jardines Street) east ±100 feet, within the Bay Street Gardens Subdivision, out of the S.M. Harris One Third League Survey, A-327.  Parcel SY16-024

SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:  Altonette Aileen Perry, 4421 Linn Street, Houston, Texas, 77026, requested the abandonment and sale of the northern portion of excess Memel Street right-of-way, from Des Chaumes Street (aka Des Jardines Street) east ±100 feet, within the Bay Street Gardens Subdivision, out of the S.M. Harris One Third League Survey, A-327.  Altonette Aileen Perry plans to incorporate the subject right-of-way into her abutting property to construct a single-family house.

Altonette Aileen Perry has completed the transaction requirements, has accepted the City’s offer, and has rendered payment in full.

The City will abandon and sell to Altonette Aileen Perry:

Parcel SY16-024

3,000 square feet of street easement                            $5,250.00

Valued at $1.75 per square foot

Total Abandonment and Sale                                     $5,250.00

Therefore, it is recommended City Council approve an ordinance authorizing the abandonment and sale of the northern portion of excess Memel Street right-of-way, from Des Chaumes Street (aka Des Jardines Street) east ±100 feet, within the Bay Street Gardens Subdivision, out of the S.M. Harris One Third League Survey, A-327.
