The Houston Health Department (HHD) requests City Council approval of an ordinance to authorize a second amendment to an agreement between the City of Houston and Memorial-Hermann Health System for routine HIV screening services to modify the Scope of Services.
Under this contract Memorial-Hermann Health System provides routine HIV screening services at emergency rooms in their respective hospitals. The revised scope includes additions to the locations performing the testing, additional staffing, and adding consultants not in the original contract. The additional location is the Texas City Medical Center.
The additional staff includes James McCarthy, MD- PI. The additional consultant that will play a role in this intervention will be Gilead HIV Focus.
Gilead is a national partner who is considered as Best Practice Models for the sole purpose of networking ideas and processes.
