SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: The General Services Department recommends that City Council award a construction contract to Horizon International Group, LLC on the low bid amount of $569,800.00 to provide construction services for the PWE McKinney Relocation project for the Department of Public Works and Engineering (PWE).
Currently, PWE’s Utility Customer Service Call Center is housed at 4215 Leeland St. This project will relocate the call center to the PWE McKinney St. building and allow for the sale of the 4215 Leeland property. On March 9, 2016, by Ordinance No. 2016-0168, City Council approved a Real Estate Listing Agreement with Transwestern for the marketing and sale of the Leeland Street property, which consists of approximately 1.273 acres.
PROJECT LOCATION: 2805 McKinney St. (493R)
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The scope of work consists of renovating and converting a portion of the 3rd floor of the PWE building located at 2805 McKinney, including selective demolition, general construction, IT and phone services, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning work.
The contract duration for this project is 90 calendar days. Page Southerland Page is the design consultant and construction manager. BIDS: The following three bids were received on January 14, 2016:
