Summary:

RECOMMENDATION from Director Department of Public Works & Engineering for approval of final contract amount of $523,040.60 and acceptance of work on contract with ISI CONTRACTING, INC for Construction Services of Traffic Control Devices for the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program - .0047% under the original contract amount  DISTRICTS A - STARDIG; D - BOYKINS; F - LE; G - TRAVIS and J - LASTER

Background:

SUBJECT: Accept Work for Construction services of traffic control devices for the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program. WBS No. N-000660-0010-4.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  (Summary)  Pass a motion to approve the final Contract Amount of $523,040.60 or .0047% under the original Contract amount, accept the work, and authorize final payment.

 

PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION:  This project was part of the City of Houston’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to meet the program goals of the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program, which utilized traffic calming measures on residential streets to mitigate cut-through traffic and speeding problems to improve the quality of life in these areas.

 

DESCRIPTION/SCOPE:  This project consisted of concrete pavement repair and installation or removal of traffic control devices along residential streets with excessive vehicular speeds and mitigation of cut-through traffic. The project was award to ISI Contracting, Inc. with an original contract amount of $523,065.00. The contract duration for this project was for two (2) years and an additional 730 days approved by extension letters, which allowed for additional pavement repair and installation of traffic control devices.

 

LOCATION:  The project was located in Council Districts A, D, F, G and J.

 

CONTRACT COMPLETION AND COST: The Contractor, ISI Contracting, Inc. has completed the work under the subject Contract.  The project was completed within the contract time, with additional approved extensions of 730 days. The final cost of the project including underrun is $523,040.60 a decrease of $24.40 under the original Contract Amount.

 

M/WBE PARTICIPATION:  No City M/WBE participation goal is established for this project as the contract amount does not exceed the threshold of $1,000,000.00 required for a goal oriented contract per Section 15-82 of the Code of Ordinances.

Amount of Funding:

No additional funding required.
