SUBJECT: Approval of an Ordinance to temporarily add five streets to the Harris County Road Log.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve an Ordinance supporting a request from Harris County to temporarily add five streets to the Harris County Road Log.
PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: Harris County, in cooperation with the City of Houston desires to improve segments of five streets currently within the jurisdiction of the City. In order for Harris County to prepare engineering plans and specifications for the project, the City of Houston must temporarily transfer these streets to the Harris County Road Log. Upon completion of the construction, the streets will be returned to the jurisdiction of the City for maintenance.
PROJECT SCOPE: The street segments to be improved are as follows:
- Holly Hall from Fannin to State Highway 288
- Knight Road from South Loop West to Fannin
- El Rio from South Loop West to Holly Hall
- Ardmore from Holly Hall to Holcombe
- McNee from South Main to Kirby
LOCATION: The locations are as follows:
- Holly Hall from Fannin to State Highway 288 - Key Map Grid 532R, 533N and 533P
- Knight Road from South Loop West to Fannin – Key Map Grids 532M, 532R and 532V
- El Rio from South Loop West to Holly Hall – Key Map Grid 533N
- Ardmore from Holly Hall to Holcombe – Key Map Grids 533K and 533P
- McNee from South Main to Kirby – Key Map Grid 532Q
ACTION RECOMMENDED: It is recommended that City Council approve an ordinance supporting the temporary transfer of the segments of five streets to the Harris County Road Log.
