The Mayor’s Office of Special Events (MOSE) recommends that City Council approve an ordinance amending Chapter 25 of the City of Houston’s Code of Ordinances to add a new safety zone for the Memorial City area and clarify existing safety zone property descriptions.
The Memorial City safety zone is desirable due to the likelihood of teams and/or national dignitaries being housed in the area during nationally competitive bid events. As in the case of the three previously approved zones, designating this area as a safety zone will aid in traffic control and public safety management
