SUBJECT:
Accept Work - SpawGlass Civil Construction, Inc. for Airfield Pavement Repairs at George Bush Intercontinental Airport/Houston (IAH), Project 460B (WBS# A-000513-0002-4-01; Contract No. 4600012075).
RECOMMENDATION:
Pass a Motion to approve the final contract amount of $3,550,842.62, or 3.68% under the original contract amount of $3,686,339.70, accept work and authorize final payment.
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:
The contractor, SpawGlass Civil Construction, Inc., has completed all the work required under the contract in the amount of $3,550,842.62 at George Bush Intercontinental Airport/Houston (IAH). The professional construction services performed were as follows:
• Miscellaneous airfield pavement repairs, Runway 15R;
• Reconstruction of FAA Safety Lighting System on Runway 15R;
• Expansion of Taxiway WW Holding Apron;
• Reconstruction of Taxiway SA.
During construction, the project was managed and inspected Houston Airport System (HAS) personnel.
The final contract amount is $3,550,842.62. This amount includes one change order and reflects a net decrease of $135,497.08, or 3.68% under the original contract amount of $3,686,339.70.
SpawGlass Civil Construction, Inc. achieved 19.72% DBE participation on a 20% goal, earning a “Satisfactory” rating by the Office of Business Opportunity.
Engineering testing services were provided by Fugro Consultants, LP under contract
No. 73359.
The design documents were prepared by HAS.
