SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:
Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 157 has petitioned the City of Houston for consent to add 7.75 acres of land, located in the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction, to the district.
The Utility District Review Committee has evaluated the application with respect to wastewater collection and treatment, potable water distribution, storm water conveyance, and other public services.
The district is located in the vicinity of Langham Creek, Cypress Creek, State Highway 99 (Grand Parkway) and Fry Road. The district desires to add 7.75 acres, thus yielding a total of 3,279.16 acres. The district provides for storm water drainage and recreational facilities. The nearest major drainage facility for Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 157 is Cypress Creek, which flows into Spring Creek and then to the San Jacinto River and finally into Lake Houston.
Potable water and wastewater are not required for this district. By executing the Petition for Consent, the district has acknowledged that all plans for the construction of water conveyance, wastewater collection, and storm water collection systems within the district must be approved by the City of Houston prior to their construction.
