SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:
Southern Montgomery County Municipal Utility District has petitioned the City of Houston for consent to add two (2) tracts of land, totaling 17.59 acres, located in the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction, to the district.
The Utility District Review Committee has evaluated the application with respect to wastewater collection and treatment, potable water distribution, storm water conveyance, and other public services.
The district is located in the vicinity of Spring Creek, Grogans Mill Road, Woodlands Parkway and Union Pacific Railroad. The district desires to add 17.59 acres, thus yielding a total of 1,797.32 acres. The district is served by the Southern Montgomery County Municipal Utility District Wastewater Treatment Plant. The other districts served by this plant are Conroe Independent School District and City of Oak Ridge North. The nearest major drainage facility for Southern Montgomery County Municipal Utility District is Spring Creek, which flows to the San Jacinto River and finally into Lake Houston.
Potable water is provided by the district. By executing the Petition for Consent, the district has acknowledged that all plans for the construction of water conveyance, wastewater collection, and storm water collection systems within the district must be approved by the City of Houston prior to their construction.
