In accordance with Section 42-197 of the Code of Ordinances, the property owner of Lot 21, Block 13 of the Glenshire Subdivision, Section 6, initiated an application for the designation of a Special Minimum Lot Size Area (SMLSA). The application includes a petition signed by the owners of 28% of the area. Response forms were mailed to 318 property owners indicating that the SMLSA application had been submitted. The notification stated that responses from property owners must be filed with the Planning and Development Department within 30 days. Response forms were signed by owners of 62% of the SMLSA in support of the proposed area within the 30 day response period. The Houston Planning Commission considered the application on July 23, 2015 and voted to recommend that the City Council establish the SMLSA with a modified boundary.
The Planning and Development Department and the Houston Planning Commission recommend that City Council adopt an ordinance establishing a special minimum lot size of 8,711 square feet for the Glenshire Subdivision, Sections 2 and 6.
