Subject: S63-N25509 – Purchase of a Modular Office Building through the Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (BuyBoard) for the Houston Police Department.
Specific Explanation:
The Chief of the Houston Police Department and the City Purchasing Agent recommend that City Council approve the purchase of a modular office building through the Interlocal Agreement for Cooperative Purchasing with the Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (BuyBoard) in an amount not to exceed $115,950.00 for the Houston Police Department and that authorization be given to issue a purchase order to the BuyBoard contractor, Nortex Modular Leasing and Construction Company.
This purchase consists of a modular office building and associated equipment for the Narcotics Training Division at the Houston Police Department Academy, located at 17000 Aldine Westfield, Houston, TX 77066. The modular office building will replace the existing trailer to allow the Narcotics Officers to continue any administrative functions associated with the training activities for all of the Narcotics Division at the HPD Academy. The modular office building shall be delivered to the HPD Academy, Narcotics Training Division and installed by Nortex Modular Leasing and Construction Company personnel. The modular building will come with a one year warranty and the life expectancy is 20-30 years.
Hire Houston First:
This procurement is exempt from the City’s Hire Houston First Ordinance that promotes economic opportunity for Houston businesses and supports job creation. This procurement is exempt from the City’s Hire Houston First ordinance because the department is utilizing an Interlocal or Cooperative Purchasing Agreement for this purchase.
