Summary:

RECOMMENDATION from Director General Services Department to reallocate funds from the Task Order/Job Order Contracting Program to the Environmental Remediation, Underground Storage Tank Removal and Demolition Services Task Order Contracting Program - $150,000.00  Solid Waste Consolidated Construction Fund

Background:

SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:  On November 13, 2013, Ordinance No. 2013-1059, City Council appropriated $955,000.00 out of the Solid Waste Consolidated Construction Fund under the TOC/JOC Contracting Program for FY 2014.   The Solid Waste Management Department has requested that $150,000.00 of the appropriation be reallocated to address environmental remediation of various Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) facilities.  Therefore, the General Services Department recommends that City Council adopt a Motion to reallocate the sum of $150,000.00 from the TOC/JOC Contracting Program for FY 2014 to the Environmental Remediation, Underground Storage Tank Removal and Demolition Services Task Order Contracting Program for environmental services for various SWMD facilities.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The scope of work consists of environmental abatement, including demolition, asbestos mold and lead abatement, and underground storage tank removal, soil and groundwater remediation, loading, hauling and proper disposal of waste material generated as a result of all activities.
