Summary:

ORDINANCE appropriating $240,000.00 out of Police Consolidated Construction Fund for Facility Paving Improvements for Houston Police Department - DISTRICTS A - STARDIG and B - DAVIS

Background:

SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: The General Services Department recommends that City Council appropriate $240,000.00 to the existing citywide concrete repair services contract with Times Construction, Inc., to replace sections of the concrete/asphalt parking lot paving at the Houston Police Academy and Tactical Operations Division for the Houston Police Department.

PREVIOUS HISTORY AND PROJECT SCOPE:  On May 30, 2012, Ordinance No. 2012-515, City Council awarded a three-year contract with two one-year options to Times Construction, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $5,300,345.00 for concrete repair services for various departments.  The contract is funded through various appropriations/allocations for repair services.  To date, $3,088,765.00 has been expended on the contract.

 

M/WBE INFORMATION:  The contract was awarded with a 14% MBE goal and 8% SBE goal.  Currently, Times     Construction, Inc. has achieved 12.49% MBE participation and 17.08% SBE participation.
