| | | | | | | | Background: RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt an ordinance approving and authorizing Amendment No. 1 to the Lease Agreement with 1859-Historic Hotels, Ltd. for certain premises of improved parking area and greenbelt at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU).
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:
On September 19, 2018, City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2018-0737, approving and authorizing a Lease Agreement with 1859-Historic Hotels, Ltd. (Lessee), granting it a 10-year lease for approximately 61,325 square feet of improved land adjacent to Lessee’s property at 8181 Airport Blvd. The leased premises includes parking area and greenbelt, and total rent payable by the Lessee over the term of the Lease is $564,375.00.
The proposed Amendment No. 1 would modify the Lease Agreement between the City and 1859-Historic Hotels, Ltd. to add mortgage provisions, thereby providing the Lessee with the option to mortgage the leasehold estate, subject to certain conditions. Passage of Amendment No. 1 would update the Lease to conform to other leases at HOU.
Fiscal Note:
There is no impact to the fiscal budget or no additional spending authority. Therefore, no Fiscal Note is required as stated in the Financial Policies.
