Summary:

ORDINANCE finding and determining that public convenience and necessity no longer require the continued use of McDonald Street, from Stillman Street north to its terminus, located in the John Reinermann Survey, Abstract 642, Harris County, Texas; abandoning the easement to TCUW PROPERTIES, LLC, the abutting owner, in consideration of its cash payment to the City of $85,670.00, and conveyance to the City of a Full-Width Storm Easement, also located in the John Reinermann Survey, Abstract 642, Harris County, Texas, and other good and valuable consideration - DISTRICT C - KAMIN

Background:

SUBJECT: Ordinance authorizing the abandonment and sale of McDonald Street, from Stillman Street north to its terminus, in exchange for conveyance to the City of a full-width storm sewer easement, both within Cottage Grove Section 5 Subdivision, out of the John Reinermann Survey, Abstract 642.  Parcels SY23-098 and LY24-001

 

RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended City Council approve an ordinance authorizing the abandonment and sale of McDonald Street, from Stillman Street north to its terminus, in exchange for conveyance to the City of a full-width storm sewer easement, both within Cottage Grove Section 5 Subdivision, out of the John Reinermann Survey, Abstract 642, and a consideration of $85,670.00. Parcels SY23-098 and LY24-001

SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: Bradley Richards of TCUW Properties, LLC, requested the abandonment and sale of McDonald Street, from Stillman Street north to its terminus. The applicant plans to construct a parking lot for the applicant's existing business located at 6200 Stillman Street. The Joint Referral Committee reviewed and approved the request subject to the conveyance to the City of a full-width storm sewer easement. TCUW Properties LLC has completed the transaction requirements, has accepted the City’s offer and has rendered payment.

 

The City will abandon and sell to TCUW Properties, LLC.:
