ORDINANCE establishing the north and south sides of the 3000 Block of Southmore Boulevard, between Ennis Street and the Columbia Tap Trail, within the City of Houston, Texas, as a Special Minimum Lot Size Block pursuant to Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances, Houston, Texas - DISTRICT D - EVANS-SHABAZZ

In accordance with Section 42-197 of the Code of Ordinances, the property owner of 3012 Southmore Boulevard, Lot 4, Block 6 of the Riverside Extension Subdivision initiated an application for the designation of a Special Minimum Lot Size Block (SMLSB). The application includes written evidence of support from the owners of 61% of the block. The Planning and Development Department mailed notifications to all property owners indicating that the SMLSB application had been submitted. The notification further stated that written protest must be filed with the Planning and Development Department within thirty days of mailing. One written protest was filed. The Houston Planning Commission considered the protested application on March 20, 2025 and voted to recommend that the City Council establish the SMLSB.

The Planning and Development Department recommends that City Council adopt an ordinance establishing a Special Minimum Lot Size of 5,150 square feet for the 3000 block of Southmore Boulevard, north and south sides, between Ennis Street and the Columbia Tap Trail.
