Summary:

ORDINANCE appropriating $1,575,000.00 out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund; approving and authorizing Professional Engineering Services Contract between City of Houston and KALLURI GROUP, INC for On-Call Engineering Services for Drinking Water Operations Facilities City Wide Package 2; providing funding for CIP Cost Recovery financed by the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund

Background:

SUBJECT: Professional Engineering Services Contract between the City and Kalluri Group, Inc. for On-call Engineering Services for Drinking Water Operations Facilities City Wide Package 2.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  An ordinance approving a Professional Engineering Services Contract with Kalluri Group, Inc. for On-call Engineering Services for Drinking Water Operations Facilities City Wide Package 2 and appropriate funds.

 

PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: This project is part of the Citywide TCEQ Compliance program and is required to ensure environmental compliance and sustainability to meet state and federal water regulations.

 

DESCRIPTION/SCOPE: This project consists of the design of water facilities on an as needed basis. The project scope is established by each work authorization.

 

LOCATION:   The projects are located throughout the City of Houston.

 

SCOPE OF CONTRACT AND FEE: Under the scope of the Contract, the Consultant will perform Phase II – Final Design, Phase III - Construction Phase Services and Additional Services.

 

The Contract includes certain Additional Services to be paid either as a lump sum or on a reimbursable basis. The total Additional Services appropriation is $1,500,000.00.

 

The total cost of this project is $1,575,000.00 to be appropriated as follows: $1,500,000.00 for Contract services and $75,000.00 for CIP Cost Recovery.

 

PAY OR PLAY PROGRAM: The proposed contract requires compliance with the City’s Pay or Play ordinance regarding health benefits for employees of City contractors. In this case, the Consultant provides health benefits to eligible employees in compliance with City policy.

 

M/WBE PARTICIPATION: The M/WBE goal for the project is 26.00%. The Consultant has proposed the following firms to achieve this goal.
