The automobile accident giving rise to this lawsuit occurred on June 8, 2018, when a Houston Fire Department employee driving an ambulance northbound on 4000 block of State Highway 288 changed lanes while unsafe and collided with Plaintiff’s car. The collision damaged the entire front portion of Plaintiff’s vehicle.
As a result of the collision, Plaintiff Ana Schettini Aleman sustained bodily injuries and received medical treatment in excess of $145,000.
The case was mediated by Noe Moreno who proposed a settlement amount of $88,000.00.
The Legal Department recommends that the Council adopt an Ordinance authorizing and approving the Release and approve and authorize the payment of $88,000.00 out of the Property and Casualty Fund (1004) in settlement of Plaintiff’s claims.
Fiscal Note: Funding for the item is included in the FY2025 Adopted Budget. Therefore, no Fiscal Note is required as stated in the Financial Policies.
