Specific Explanation:
The Director of the Fleet Management Department and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that City Council approve the purchase of (25) twenty-five mowers and ground maintenance equipment through the Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (BuyBoard) contractor Professional Turf Products, LP, in the total amount of $750,349.25, for the Houston Parks and Recreation Department.
The Fleet Management Department has vetted and approved the purchase of this equipment. The new units will replace mowers and equipment that has reached the end of serviceable life and will be assigned to the Greenspace Management Division for daily parks grounds maintenance.
This recommendation is made pursuant to subsection 271.102(c) of the Texas Local Government Code, which provides that "a local government that purchases goods or services from a cooperative purchasing program or organization satisfies any state law requiring the local government to seek competitive bids for the purchase of the goods or services.”

Hire Houston First:
