SUBJECT: Accept Work for Sanitary Sewer Cleaning and Television Inspection In Support of Rehabilitation.
RECOMMENDATION: (SUMMARY) Pass a motion to approve the final contract amount of $819,184.88 or 1.27% under the original contract amount, accept the Work and authorize final payment.
PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: This project was part of the Neighborhood Sewer Rehabilitation Program required to renew/replace various deteriorated neighborhood collection systems throughout the City. The project involved sanitary sewer cleaning and television inspection in support of rehabilitation. The purpose was to reduce sanitary sewer overflows, which was accomplished by cleaning the sewer lines and television inspection to identify sewer lines in need of rehabilitation/renewal.
DESCRIPTION/SCOPE: This project consisted of sanitary sewer cleaning and television inspection in support of rehabilitation. The project was awarded to BCAC Underground, LLC with 730 calendar days allowed for construction and an original contract amount of $829,718.25.
LOCATION: The projects are located throughout the City of Houston.
CONTRACT COMPLETION AND COST: The contractor, BCAC Underground, LLC, has completed the work under the subject contract. The project was completed within the original contract time. The final cost of the project, including overrun and underrun of estimated unit price quantities is $819,184.88, a decrease of $10,533.37 or 1.27% under the original contract amount. The decreased cost is a result of the difference between planned and measured quantities.
M/WSBE PARTICIPATION: No City MWBE participation goal was established for this project as the contract amount did not exceed the threshold of $1,000,000.00 required for goal-oriented contracts per Section 15-82 of the City Code of Ordinances.
