Summary:

GLOBAL WET, LLC to Furnish and Install Rotoshear Internally-Fed Rotating Drum Screen Parts for Houston Public Works - $96,454.00 - Enterprise Fund

Background:

Formal Bids Received August 22, 2024, for (B23 - Doc1198808134) - Approve an award to Global Wet, LLC in an amount not to exceed $96,454.00 to furnish and install Rotoshear internally-fed rotating drum screen parts for Houston Public Works.

Specific Explanation:

The Chief Procurement Officer and the Chief Operating Officer of Houston Public Works (HPW) recommend that City Council approve an award to Global Wet, LLC on its sole bid in an amount not to exceed $96,454.00 to purchase and install Rotoshear internally-fed rotating drum screen parts for Houston Public Works.

The Rotoshear internally-fed rotating drum screen parts will be delivered and installed at the HPW Almeda Sims Wastewater Treatment Plant. The existing unit is over 20 years old and currently not operational. The drum screen removes solids and debris from waste-activating sludge.  The unit is a wedge-wire cylindrical screen that operates with minimal attendance. It is a high-capacity, self-cleaning, fine screen that uses wedge-wire media to separate solids from liquid streams.

This project was advertised in accordance with the requirements of the State of Texas bid laws. One (1) bid was received via the City of Houston’s Ariba procurement system.
