The Housing and Community Development Department (HCD), recommends Council authorize and approve a sixth amendment to the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery 2016 Flood Events (CDBG-DR 16) Subrecipient Agreement (#19-076-008-B357) between the City of Houston (City) and the Texas General Land Office (GLO).
Pursuant to Ordinance No. 2019-109, City Council approved and authorized the execution of this agreement to accept and administer $23,486,698.00 in CDBG-DR 16 funds for the City’s Housing Buyout Program for the purposes of mitigating the impacts of the 2016 floods.
The GLO is now proposing to extend the City’s CDBG-DR 16 Agreement term from November 30, 2024, to July 31, 2025. The extension will allow time for the demolition and closeout of mitigation projects currently in process. There are no changes to the funding.
