The CSMART Infrastructure Migration project will provide for the migration of the CSMART application from on premises servers to the cloud environment. CSMART (Court System Management and Resource Technology) is a case management system used by the Municipal Courts Department (MCD). CSMART processes citations for the Houston Police Department (HPD), Houston Public Works (HPW), Houston Health Department (HHD), and Houston Metro Police. Currently, the application is operating on legacy on premises infrastructure hardware leading to instability in the IT environment. By moving the application to the cloud not only will align with the goal of cloud first where it makes business sense under the HITS strategic priorities, but also by moving from on premises servers to the cloud, this will provide for cost savings, higher levels of security and data integrity, connectivity and accessibility, reduced risk of data loss, faster deployment, increased collaboration for employees situated in various locations, and improved efficiency. HITS will leverage cooperative and/or existing enterprise contract(s) for the purchase of professional services, maintenance services, hardware, and software.
Fiscal Note:
No significant Fiscal Operating impact is anticipated because of these projects.
