Pursuant to section 2-292 of the Code of Ordinances, I am pleased to appoint Michael Nichols as the Director of the Housing and Community Development Department for the City of Houston, subject to Council confirmation. His resume is attached.
Mr. Nichols will bring his experience in the public, private, and non-profit arenas to the Housing Department and I am delighted that he has agreed to return to public service. Throughout his role as Interim Director, Mr. Nichols has demonstrated the ability to organize and prioritize complex programs, funding and partnerships into manageable projects and propose a clear path forward across the department
His appointment will appear on the agenda of April 3, 2024 and he will be available to meet with each of you prior to that date.
