The Planning and Development Department has received a memo from the Mayor for the annexation of a portion of Northpark Drive located entirely within Montgomery County, containing approximately 14.29 acres of road right-of-way into the City.
The City is the owner of the annexation area by virtue of a Right-of-Way Deed from Montgomery County dated May 23, 2023.
The annexation area is located east of Loop-494, between Anderson Road and the Kingwood area on the northeast side of the City. The east boundary of the annexation area is adjacent to the City’s full purpose jurisdiction. The length of the annexation area is approximately 1.09 miles.
There are at present no residents in the area to be annexed.
A service agreement has been developed that defines the services that will be provided by the City of Houston.
The Planning and Development Department recommends that City Council approve the ordinance for the general-purpose annexation of the right-of-way portion between Anderson Road and the Kingwood area and adopt a service plan for the annexed area after the required public hearings on November 8 and November 15, 2023.
