Specific Explanation:
The Director of Houston Public Works (HPW) and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that City Council amend Council Motion No. 2018-0647 to extend the award term from December 17, 2023 to June 17, 2025 for the purchase of prescription safety glasses awarded to Safety RX Services & Supply Corp. for Houston Public Works.
This award began December 17, 2018, for a thirty-six-month term with two one-year options to renew, in the amount not to exceed $361,689.25. Expenditures as of October 10, 2023 totaled $221,068.00.
HPW has been very satisfied with the merchandise and services provided by Safety RX Services & Supply Corp. The monthly burn rate is approximately $4,000.00 per month. There is sufficient spending authority remaining in the contract to carry the City through the extended eighteen-month period.
