Specific Explanation:
The Director of Houston Public Works (HPW) and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that City Council approve an award in the total amount of $155,105.00 to furnish Electric Actuators and that authorization be given to issue a purchase order to Bernard Controls, Inc.
This purchase consists of a total of Twenty-Four (24) Electric Actuators. The Actuators will be delivered to the East Water Purification Plant and the Northeast Water Purification Plant. The Actuators are used to control the flow through waste and influent/effluent valves in order to produce potable water. They are a critical component used in the treatment process and the Actuators will be built and shipped directly from the manufacturer with a twelve-month (12) warranty upon delivery.
This project was advertised in accordance with the requirements of the State of Texas bid laws. Forty-eight (48) prospective bidders downloaded the solicitation document from the SPD’s e-bidding website and seven (7) bids were received as outlined below. National Hose Acquisition Corporation and Valve Industries Inc. did not provide signatures to the City Secretary's office and therefore are non-responsive.
