RECOMMENDATION: Appropriate funds for the Professional Environmental Consulting Services Task Order Program (Environmental Program) for FY2023.
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: The General Services Department recommends that City Council appropriate $750,000.00 for the Environmental Program for FY2023 for comprehensive environmental consulting services for various City departments. The Environmental Program is funded through supplemental allocations from various departmental budgets or appropriations from various bond funds as departments identify projects and specific funding for each project. Funds are allocated to contracts as task orders are issued.
PROJECT LOCATIONS: Citywide
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The scope of work consists of comprehensive professional environmental consulting services to include: project planning and site studies for asbestos, lead, mold and indoor air quality; pre-acquisition environmental site assessment; preparation of construction documents, construction administration and inspection; evaluation and remediation of contaminants; system design; preparation of reports; and environmental testing for required work at leaking petroleum storage tank sites on City properties.
PREVIOUS HISTORY AND PROJECT SCOPE: On September 25, 2019, by Ordinance No. 2019-736, City Council approved 15 professional environmental consulting services task order contracts for a term of five-years and set a maximum contract amount for each contract of $600,000.
