Specific Explanation:
The Director of the Houston Public Library and the Interim Chief Procurement Officer recommend that City Council approve an award to SCM Consultants, Inc. on its low overall bid meeting specifications in the total amount of $129,217.77 for the purchase of miscellaneous technology items which includes but is not limited to hardcover and paperback books, DVDs, camcorders, adapters, card readers, video cameras, stabilizers, software licenses, musical instruments, oversized tablets, hand tools, scanners, dust masks, paper cutters, engravers, mouse pads, 3D printers, badge maker buttons, and audiovisual materials to be used by patrons at the Alief Techlink Houston Public Library.
This project was advertised in accordance with the requirements of the State of Texas bid laws. Thirty-three (33) prospective bidders downloaded the solicitation document from SPD’s e-bidding website, and three (3) bids were received as outlined below.
SCM Consultants, Inc.: Award on its low overall bid meeting specifications for Group 1, Item Nos 1 thru 14 (video production items), Group 2, Item Nos. 1 thru 69 (music production items), Group 3, Item Nos 1 thru 15 (multimedia items) and Group 4, Item Nos 1 thru 46, 48, 49, 50, 51 and 53 thru 59 (maker space items) in the total amount of $129,217.77.
