Summary:

ORDINANCE appropriating $1,988,636.28 out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund; approving and authorizing Advanced Funding Agreement between City of Houston and TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION for Huffman-Cleveland Road north to FM1960; providing funding for CIP Cost Recovery relating to construction of facilities financed by the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund

Background:

SUBJECT:  Advance Funding Agreement between the City of Houston (City) and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for FM 2100 from Huffman-Cleveland Road (North) to FM 1960.

 

 RECOMMENDATION: Adopt an ordinance approving and authorizing an Advance Funding Agreement between the City of Houston (City) and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for FM 2100 from Huffman-Cleveland Road (North) to FM 1960 and appropriate funds.

 

PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: Texas Transportation Commission Minute Order Number 115814 authorizes TxDOT to reconstruct FM 2100 from Huffman-Cleveland Road (North) to FM 1960.

 

DESCRIPTION:  This project consists of TxDOT reconstructing and widening FM 2100, from Huffman-Cleveland Road (North) to FM 1960. The City and TxDOT agree that it is more economical and efficient for such relocation to be handled by TxDOT.

 

LOCATION: The project area is generally bound by Huffman Cleveland Road on the north and FM 1960 on the south.

SCOPE OF THE AGREEMENT AND FEE:  The agreement between the City and TxDOT entails relocating the City’s existing force main and sanitary sewer lines that are within TxDOT’s right of way.

 

The total requested amount of $1,988,636.29 is to be appropriated as follows: $1,893,939.32 for cost of the project and $94,696.97 for CIP Cost Recovery.

 

FISCAL NOTE: No significant Fiscal Operating Impact is anticipated as a result of this project.
