SUBJECT: Interlocal Agreement between the City of Houston (City) and Uptown Development Authority (Authority) for Memorial Drive Panel Replacement.
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt an ordinance approving and authorizing an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Houston (City) and Uptown Development Authority (Authority) for Memorial Drive Panel Replacement and appropriate funds.
PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: This is a joint project between the City and the Authority, whereas both parties find that it is in the public interest to enter into this Interlocal Agreement to improve Memorial Drive between IH-610 and Westcott Street.
DESCRIPTION: This project consists of panel replacement improvements being made on Memorial Drive and Woodway Drive from IH-610 to Westcott Street.
LOCATION: The project area is generally bound by Memorial Drive on the north, Buffalo Bayou on the south, Westcott Street on the east and IH-610 on the west.
SCOPE OF THE AGREEMENT AND FEE: The agreement between the City and the Authority entails street improvements along Memorial Drive including but not limited to removing/replacing the subgrade, curb and pavement, striping and signs and back-of-curb restoration. The City will be funding the project and the Authority will advertise, award, and manage the construction. The total cost of the project is $4,842,000.00.
The total requested amount of $5,326,200.00 is to be appropriated as follows: $4,842,000.00 for cost of the project and $484,200.00 for CIP Cost Recovery.
FISCAL NOTE: No significant Fiscal Operating Impact is anticipated as a result of this project.
