RECOMMENDATION: (Summary) It is recommended City Council approve an ordinance authorizing the sale of a 10 foot-wide utility easement with its attending aerial easement, out of a portion of a 29.11 acre City fee-owned tract of land, located in TR 3B of the Cedar Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant, out of the John Merry League Survey, Abstract 49, in exchange for a consideration of $4,185.00. Parcel SY20-030
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:
Antionette Mays with CenterPoint Energy requested the sale of a 10 foot-wide utility easement with its attending aerial easement, out of a portion of a 29.11 acre City fee-owned tract of land, located in TR 3B of the Cedar Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant, out of the John Merry League Survey, Abstract 49. The applicant will use the easement to increase the reliability of power in the area. The plan is to extend a new circuit within the proposed easement from FM 1960 north to Huffman Eastgate Road. Once completed the existing facilities will be replaced with a new circuit that will provide an alternate electrical source to the City of Houston's Cedar Bayou Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Joint Referral Committee reviewed and approved the request. CenterPoint Energy has complied with the transaction requirements, has accepted the City's offer, and has rendered payment.
