The Chief Information Officer recommends that City Council approve an ordinance to appropriate $730,000.00 from the Equipment Acquisition Consolidated Fund (1800) for the planned purchase of computer hardware, peripherals, licenses, and software services for Houston Information Technology Services and various departments. This project allows the City to purchase computer hardware, peripherals, licenses, and software services to replace Voice Gateways that are nearing the City's 5-year asset replacement cycle. Voice Gateways are necessary for providing analog lines for faxes, elevators, and call boxes used throughout the City. This purchase is required not only to replace equipment that has reached the end of its useful life but also to meet operational needs and security requirements of the City. The equipment and services for this project will be purchased utilizing the existing Cisco Enterprise Agreement as outlined below.
