Summary:

ORDINANCE appropriating $581,059.23 out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund; approving and authorizing Interlocal Agreement between City of Houston and HARRIS COUNTY for the Anderson Road Project; providing funding for CIP Cost Recovery relating to construction of facilities financed by the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund - DISTRICT K - CASTEX-TATUM

Background:

SUBJECT: Interlocal Agreement between the City of Houston (City) and Harris County (County) for the Anderson Road project.

 

 RECOMMENDATION: Adopt an ordinance approving and authorizing an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Houston (City) and Harris County (County) for the Anderson Road project and appropriate funds.

 

PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: This project is part of the Interlocal Cooperation Act, Tex. Gov’t Code Ch. 791.001 program.

 

DESCRIPTION:  This project consists of constructing improvements to Anderson Road from Hiram Clarke Road to Almeda Road including sidewalks on each side of the roadway. Additionally, the City owns and operates water and sanitary lines within the Anderson Road right of way and agrees to pay any necessary costs to adjust the water and sewer lines for this project.

 

LOCATION: The project area is generally bound by West Fuqua Street on the north, Sam Houston Tollway on the south, Almeda Road on the east and Hiram Clarke Road on the west. 

SCOPE OF THE AGREEMENT AND FEE: The City has requested the County to incorporate the adjustment of the water and sewer lines into their project.  The City will provide $553,389.74 to the County to cover the adjustment costs.    

 

The total requested amount of $581,059.23 is to be appropriated as follows: $553,389.74 for cost of the project and $27,669.49 for CIP Cost Recovery.

 

FISCAL NOTE: No significant Fiscal Operating Impact is anticipated as a result of this project.
