William Williford, owner, declining the acceptance of, rejecting, and refusing the dedication of Almeda Springs Drive from Almeda Genoa Road north to its terminus and a 14-foot-wide utility easement, both located within the Villas at Almeda Springs Subdivision, out of the J. Holloway Survey, A-339, Parcels SY22-003A & SY22-003B - DISTRICT D - EVANS-SHABAZZ

Background:

SUBJECT:  Request for a motion declining the acceptance of, rejecting, and refusing the dedication of Almeda Springs Drive from Almeda Genoa Road north to its terminus and a 14-foot-wide utility easement, both located within the Villas at Almeda Springs Subdivision, out of the J. Holloway Survey, A-339. Parcels SY22-003A & SY22-003B

 

RECOMMENDATION:  It is recommended City Council approve a motion declining the acceptance of, rejecting, and refusing the dedication of Almeda Springs Drive from Almeda Genoa Road north to its terminus and a 14-foot-wide utility easement, both located within the Villas at Almeda Springs Subdivision, out of the J. Holloway Survey, A-339. Parcels SY22-003A & SY22-003B

 

SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:  Aaron G. Davis, 255 Assay Street, Houston, Texas, 77044, on behalf of Brownwood Capital Investments, LLC. William Williford, owner, requested the non-acceptance of Almeda Springs Drive from Almeda Genoa Road north to its terminus and a 14-foot-wide utility easement, both located within the Villas at Almeda Springs Subdivision, out of the J. Holloway Survey, A-339. The applicant plans to non-accept the street and replace it with a private access easement that follows a similar alignment.  The applicant plans to incorporate the subject utility easement into the tracts of land as part of the subdivision replat.  The street and utility easement have never been paved or used for utility purposes, and the City has identified no future need for them.  The Joint Referral Committee reviewed and approved the request.

 

Therefore, it is recommended City Council approve a motion declining the acceptance of, rejecting, and refusing the dedication of Almeda Springs Drive from Almeda Genoa Road north to its terminus and a 14-foot-wide utility easement, both located within the Villas at Almeda Springs Subdivision, out of the J. Holloway Survey, A-339.
