| | | | | | | | Background:
The Housing and Community Development Department (HCDD) recommends Council approval of an Ordinance authorizing the acceptance of a Third Amendment to the Contract between the City of Houston (City) and the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) for the Texas Emergency Rental Assistance Program (TERAP).
The Third Amendment incorporates revisions to Exhibit A, the Contract Benchmarks, and revisions to Section 4, “Deobligation of Funds”, extending the date to November 30, 2021. There will be no adjustments to the funding on this contract.
TERAP provides rental assistance funds to income-eligible households impacted by COVID-19 to help them stay housed during the pandemic and help them recover economically from the impact of the pandemic. This program is federally funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to prevent, prepare for, or respond to the impacts of COVID-19.
No fiscal note is required for grant items.
