In accordance with Section 42-197 of the Code of Ordinances, the property owner of 615 E. 17th Street, Lot 13 and Tracts 14A, Block 111, of the Houston Heights subdivision initiated an application for the designation of a Special Minimum Lot Size Block (SMLSB). The application includes written evidence of support from the owners of 61% of the block. The Planning and Development Department mailed notifications to twelve (12) property owners indicating that the SMLSB application had been submitted. The notification further stated that written protest must be filed with the Planning and Development Department within thirty days of mailing. In accordance with the Code, since no protest was filed and no action was required by the Houston Planning Commission, the application may be submitted directly to City Council for consideration.
The Planning and Development Department recommends that City Council adopt an ordinance establishing a Special Minimum Lot Size of 4,672 square feet for the 600 block of E. 17th Street, north and south sides.
