SUBJECT: Pass a motion approving Change Order No. 3 for Neighborhood Street Reconstruction No. 460 (Subproject 1), Granberry Street, East 10th Street.
RECOMMENDATION: (SUMMARY) Pass a motion approving Change Order No. 3 for Neighborhood Street Reconstruction No. 460 (Subproject 1), Granberry Street, East 10th Street.
PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: This project is part of the Capital Improvement Plan and is required to replace existing residential streets that have deteriorated beyond economical repair and normal maintenance.
LOCATION: This project area is generally bound by East 10th Street on the north, East 5th Street on the south, Granberry Street on the east, and Heights Boulevard Street on the west.
CHANGE ORDER No. 3: This work is required for the additional work described in Change Order No. 3 to include the additional funding necessary to complete construction due to the additional scope of the realignment of storm boxes and work on water service line adjustments. This scope of work is necessary to complete the execution of this project due to the inspection results per the contract documents. The contract duration for this project is 150 calendar days. The project was awarded to Conrad Construction Co., Inc. with an original Contract Amount of $1,182,117.00.
The proposed Change Order No. 3 is in the amount of $36,281.40 or 3.07% above the original contract amount and extends the contract time by 40 days. This will increase the original contract amount to $1,218,398.40.
M/WBEPARTICIPATION: The M/WBE goal established for this contract is 19.88%. The original Contract is in the amount of $1,182,117.00. The Consultant has been paid $1,228,525.37 (103.93%) to date. Of this amount, $289,287.00 (23.55%) has been paid to M/WBE sub-consultants to date. Assuming approval of the requested additional appropriation, the contract amount will increase to $1,218,398.40. According to the Office of Business Opportunity, the Contractor’s to date MWBE/SBE performance is 23.47%.
