The Administration and Regulatory Affairs Department (ARA) recommends that the following proposed areas be designated as Residential Permit Parking (RPP) areas and that a valid permit be required for on-street parking at the times of day and days of the week specified below and in the attachment.
RPP# 011121-24-345
· 1800 block of Wilson, 1800 block of Matthews, 1300 block of West Webster, and 1300 block of O’Neil south side only.
· Days/Times: Monday - Sunday, 4 PM - 4 AM, tow-away zone.
RPP# 111620-67-343
· 2000 block of Live Oak west side, 2000 block of St. Charles east side, and 2500 block of Pierce south side.
· Days/Times: Friday - Sunday, 9 PM - 2 AM, tow-away zone.
Chapter 26, Section 26-311 of the City of Houston’s Code of Ordinances provides for the creation of RPP areas in neighborhoods where excessive commuter parking is deemed a problem for residents. To date, 189 permit parking areas have been designated.
ARA and Houston Public Works Department reviewed the applications and held a virtual public hearing on August 10, 2021, to discuss and ensure any outstanding issues with the proposed area were satisfactorily resolved within the community. The required public hearing notice was sent to all addresses within a 200 feet boundary of the requested zone, the Montrose/Neartown Super Neighborhood, and the Greater Third Ward Super Neighborhood.
