The Houston Parks and Recreation Department (HPARD) requests City Council approval of an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) between the City of Houston and the Southwest Houston Redevelopment Authority (TIRZ 20) for the design and construction of the Sharpstown Hike and Bike Trail.
In 2014, the City and CenterPoint Energy signed a Master License Agreement that would allow the city to build hike-and-bike trails on CenterPoint Energy utility corridors. The City and TIRZ 20 now desire to enter into an agreement to authorize a right of entry to the TIRZ to perform work necessary to complete the Hike and Bike Trails. TIRZ 20 will assume all financial costs associated with completing the trails, including but not limited to design and construction. The City may but is not obligated to contribute funds.
FISCAL NOTE: No significant Fiscal Operating impact is anticipated as a result of this project
