SUBJECT: Petition for the City's consent to the creation of 860.526 acres of land as Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 118 (Key Map No. 335-F,G)
RECOMMENDATION: (Summary) The petition for the creation of 860.526 acres of land as Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 118 be approved.
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: The owners of 860.526 acres of land have petitioned the City of Houston for consent to create a district.
The Utility District Review Committee has evaluated the application with respect to wastewater collection and treatment, potable water distribution, storm water conveyance, and other public services.
The district is located in the vicinity of Spring Creek, Riley Fuzzel, and the San Jacinto River. The district will consist of 860.526 acres. The district will be served by a regional plant, proposed Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 118 Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. Other districts to be served by this proposed regional plant are Montgomery County Municipal Utility District Nos. 102, 103,104, and 117. The nearest major drainage facility for Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 118 is Spring Creek which flows into the San Jacinto River and then into Lake Houston.
Potable water will be provided by proposed Montgomery County Municipal Utility District Nos. 102-104, 117 and 118 Regional Water Plant Numbers 1, 2, and 3. By executing the Petition for Consent, the district has acknowledged that all plans for the construction of water conveyance, wastewater collection, and storm water collection systems within the district must be approved by the City of Houston prior to their construction.
The Utility District Review Committee recommends that the subject petition be approved.
