SUBJECT: Approve an Agreement between the City of Houston (City) and Harris County (County) for the relocation of a City owned 6” sanitary sewer force main.
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt an ordinance approving and authorizing an Agreement between the City of Houston (City) and Harris County (County) for the relocation of a 6” sanitary sewer force main and appropriate funds.
DESCRIPTION: This Agreement is for the relocation of a 6” sanitary sewer force main which is in direct conflict with the County’s Federal Road Project and has to be adjusted to allow the County to complete their project.
LOCATION: The project area is bound by Industrial Road on the north, Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) on the south, West Canal on the west and UPRR on the east.
SCOPE OF THE AGREEMENT AND FEE: The County will provide engineering services and related support services necessary to develop plans, specifications, and estimates. The County is responsible for the relocation of the 6" sanitary sewer force main. Under the terms of this Agreement, the City will be responsible for the cost of the relocation in an amount not to exceed $29,159.29.
The total cost of the relocation is $30,617.25 to be appropriated as follows: $29,159.29 for project cost and $1,457.96 for CIP Cost Recovery.
FISCAL NOTE: No significant Fiscal Operating Impact is anticipated as a result of this project.
ACTION RECOMMENDED: It is recommended that City Council adopt an ordinance approving and authorizing an Agreement between the City of Houston and Harris County and appropriate funds.
